FAQ
Your participation in this weekend will likely change something in your life. It is therefore all the more important that you make a conscious decision before embarking on this adventure. This FAQ will help answer your questions.
About us
We are men united within a non-profit association, ManKind Project Switzerland, whose mission is to accompany other men to help them develop their full maturity and live a life of integrity and responsibility, in contact with their emotions.
Who is behind this adventure?
Coming from the most diverse backgrounds, the men who lead this Adventure have already experienced the weekend and continue their life journey with the support, brotherhood and solidarity of the other men in the association.
They, in turn, want to share and offer the gift of this Adventure to other men. Drawing on their diverse experiences and training, they accompany those undergoing their initiation with their full commitment, support, and solidarity. They are not paid professionals.
What is included in the Initiatory Adventure Weekend?
The weekend is a succession of finely coordinated activities: discussion groups, games, guided visualizations, individual work, etc.
It is designed to help each man get in touch with his own truth, not about his job, his possessions, or his place in life, but about himself.
We do not share the detailed itinerary of the Initiatory Adventure Weekend. Knowing in advance the processes you will go through would allow your mind to take over, and you might develop avoidance strategies. Experiencing these processes spontaneously, embracing surprise, and discovering in the moment will, on the contrary, help you overcome your resistance. You will thus have an original and unique experience, uninfluenced by the experiences of those who have gone before you.
However, you alone will be responsible for what you choose to experience or not experience. When a process is proposed to you, you will always have the choice not to participate.
Participating in this weekend will give you the opportunity to live your life more intensely and consciously. You will have the chance to explore topics such as your life's purpose, your authenticity, your self-affirmation, and, more generally, everything that will allow you to evolve into the person you want to be and the life you want to live.
Am I ready for the weekend?
Only you can know. Are you ready to take the risk of changing something in your life, of questioning some of your beliefs or habits? Then perhaps the time has come for you to embark on this Adventure.
Ultimately, this decision is entirely yours. Don't come under pressure from a partner or loved one, however important they may be, nor to please anyone. Come because you want to commit and get involved.
Who is participating in the weekend?
The men who come to this weekend are incredibly diverse. We welcome all adult men regardless of their age, beliefs, origins, nationalities, sexual orientations, background, culture, or social status. They come to grow, to discover all the facets that allow a man to reach his full maturity.
Some men come to this Adventure feeling that their lives aren't working, hoping to learn to live with greater depth and fulfillment. Others, having achieved success, come to discover deeper relationships with other men and with themselves. Some come because they have been invited by men they trust or because they need to learn how to trust. Others also come to take on a challenge: a new Adventure to experience. Some men come to heal from emotional or personal wounds or to find role models of men who embody a strong, positive, and mature masculinity. Some participate in the Adventure to explore and expand their leadership skills in their lives and communities. Others come to consciously transition from a life lived like adolescence to their life as adult men. And a few come to make peace with the approaching stage of old age.
Most men come because they want to learn how to live their lives more fully and intensely. Each learns to be truly themselves and discovers the joy of sharing that with others. The diversity of experiences enriches everyone.
Why only men? Are you a "masculinist" group?
The initial aim of the ManKind Project was to enable men to receive valuable teachings from other men, and that is how it developed.
In parallel, there are the associations Sacrée Femme™ (Woman Within International) and Femme au monde (Woman in Power) in which women share their knowledge with other women, and of which the ManKind Project is an active partner. See below.
In several of our centers, the New Warriors and Sacred Woman™ come together to explore the relationships between men and women.
The ManKind Project is not a "masculinist" group. It promotes a mature, inclusive masculinity that connects with women. It does not tolerate caricatures of masculinity (the "macho," the "reactionary," etc.) and helps men fully experience their emotions, their power, their vulnerability, and their inner, sacred dimension.
Do you offer introductory weekends for women?
The ManKind Project supports women in their personal development and is an active partner of Sacrée Femme™ (Women Within internationally) and Femme au monde , organizing annual gatherings. Sacrée Femme™ and Woman in Power offer weekend retreats for women.
Are you a religious group, a sect, or a political party?
Although the spiritual dimension of humanity is explored during the weekend to allow participants to examine their deepest selves, ManKind Project Switzerland is not affiliated with any church, sect, or political party. During our activities, the spiritual and religious beliefs of each participant are fully respected.
One of the missions of the ManKind Project is to create circles in which all men are supported and welcome, regardless of their religious beliefs or political opinions.
A cult asks its members to leave their current lives and devote themselves to a single leader or doctrine.
ManKind Project takes a radically different approach, helping each man find the life that best suits him and live it to the fullest with the support of a network of other men. It welcomes the diverse experiences its members have had outside of ManKind Project as a potential source of collective enrichment. Furthermore, each man is free to leave the association at any time, without conditions or reprisals.
